Division 1

History will almost certainly be made tonight when the Germantown boys hoops team takes on Milwaukee Lutheran. A win would give the Warhawks 63-straight victories, eclipsing the previous mark set by the Dominican teams of the early 1980's. Speaking of Dominican, Germantown destroyed the two-time defending D4 champs on Saturday, further establishing themselves as the team to beat once again. Neenah topped Oshkosh North last week in an FVA contest, boosting the Rockets up to #3 while North fell from 3rd to 5th. Homestead posted an impressive win over Marquette, allowing the Highlanders to move into the poll at #9, one spot ahead of the Hilltoppers.

Division 2

The top of the Division 2 poll looks very similar to last week, with Bay Conference rivals Seymour and West De Pere holding down the top two spots followed by Wisconsin Lutheran. Rice Lake dropped a game to Tartan (MN) and slid from #4 to #6. Monona Grove and its sparkling 6-0 record moves into the poll for the first time at the #7 spot, while Holmen also makes its debut at #9.

Division 3

The #1 (Lodi) vs #2 (Marshall) matchup last Tuesday did not disappoint, as the teams put on a great show. Ultimately it was Lodi that pulled out a close win, leaving the Blue Devils in the #1 spot. However, Marshall remained at #2 in the WisSports.net Coaches Poll, as the voters recognized their talent and the hard-fought game in a hostile gym. Of course it probably helped that last week's #3 team Brown Deer lost not once but twice, dropping the Falcons to #8.

Division 4

Dominican suffered a 75-29 loss to D1 power Germantown on Saturday, but the voting coaches think enough of the two-time defending champs to keep them in the top spot of the D4 poll by a good margin. The rest of the top five is unchanged as well. The main movement in the poll saw Iola-Scandinavia move down a spot, while Cuba City fell 3 spots, although the Cubans did not lose any games last week.

Division 5

Yet another big game last week featuring highly ranked teams occurred in Division 5. Top-ranked Green Bay NEW Lutheran won a barn-burner over #4 Sheboygan Lutheran 98-91. Both teams remain in the same place of the newest rankings out this week. Central Wisconsin Christian made a big jump, going from #10 to #5. Albany (#6) and North Crawford (#7) made their debuts in the poll with solid showings. Perhaps as big as any news was that Randolph dropped out of the rankings completely as they are now 4-3 overall this season.
