The WSN15 series will celebrate the 15th Anniversary of WisSports.net by looking back at the top players, teams, and moments of the past 15 years (2003-2017).

We begin our WSN15 girls' basketball series with the Top 15 Moments of the WSN Era.

Cuba City had already been known for its basketball dating back to its first state title in 1977, but what they would achieve from 2005 through 2007 is something that, at the time, had only been accomplished once in state history.

The Cubans became just the second team in state history to win three consecutive state titles, spanning from 2005 through 2007.

Cuba City joined Milwaukee Washington (1994-96) as the only teams to win three consecutive state title, Flambeau (2006-08) and Milwaukee Vincent (2007-09) would later join that list.

The Cubans, coached by Jeff Pustina, were dominant during their three-peat, posting an 80-1 record during that time.

They went a perfect 27-0 in the 2004-05 season, capping the year with a 48-37 win over Newman Catholic in the Division 3 state championship game. Four players scored in double figures for coach Pustina and the Cubans. Tami Gleason led the way with 13 points and added 12 rebounds, 3 assists, 3 blocks and 2 steals. Elizabeth Wisdom tallied 10 points, 16 rebounds and 6 blocks, and Kaitlyn Pustina and Molly Moor each netted 10 points.

Cuba City dropped its second game of the 2005-06 season against Lancaster before running the table the rest of the way to finish the year 26-1 and D3 state champions once again.

The Cubans edged Ozaukee, 56-52, in the championship game. Moor finished with a game-high 21 points, including going 11-for-12 from the charity stripe. Gleason netted 15 points, and Wisdom tallied 12 points, 15 rebounds, 5 blocks, 5 steals and 3 assists for coach Pustina and the Cubans.

Cuba City completed a perfect season, 27-0, in the 2006-07 season to complete the three-peat. They routed Amherst 70-28 in the Division 3 state championship game. Gleason led the way, finishing with 22 points, 10 rebounds, 5 assists, 3 blocks and 2 steals.

The 42-point win broke the state tournament record for largest margin of victory in a title game and the 70 points tied the D3 state tournament record for most points in a title game. The Cubans also broke the record for steals in a tournament with 35 and in a game 27, which came in the championship game.

Cuba City has reached the state tournament five more times since its three-peat, including winning three state titles. The Cubans hold state records for state tournament appearances (16) and state titles (11).

Coach Pustina is the third winningest coach in girls basketball history with 647 wins against just 131 losses (.831 winning percentage).
