The WSN15 series will celebrate the 15th Anniversary of WisSports.net by looking back at the top players, teams, and moments of the past 15 years (2003-2017).
We begin our WSN15 girls' basketball series with the Top 15 Moments of the WSN Era.
In her debut at the state tournament in 2015, Arike Ogunbowale shattered the record for most points scored in a game at state.
The 5-foot-8 guard finished with 55 points and led DSHA to an 86-76 overtime win against Middleton in a WIAA Division 1 state semifinal at the Resch Center in Green Bay.
The previous high of 46 points was held by former South Shore standout Jolene Anderson.
Ogunbowale went 21-for-45 from the field and 10-for-11 from the free throw line to finish with 55 points. The performance is tied for fourth all-time on the state's single game scoring record.
She scored 18 of the Dashers' 21 points in the fourth quarter to force overtime and then scored DSHA's first 10 points of overtime en route to the 86-76 win.
Arike also finished with 12 rebounds, 5 steals, and 2 assists in the win.
The next day Ogunbowale was named Miss Basketball by the WBCA and then the Dashers cruised past D.C. Everest, 64-29, in the 2015 Division 1 state championship game, which was DSHA's first state title in program history.
Arike finished with 27 points in the title game and her total of 82 points in the two games at state is the best in state history in the current era of having four Division 1 teams reach the state tournament. Former Middleton standout Angie (Halbleib) Murphy holds the three-game mark of 92 points, set in 1993.
Arike finished her high school career with 2,240 points, 7th on the all-time scoring list.
Ogunbowale is entering her senior year at Notre Dame. Last season, she led the Irish to the 2018 National Championship.
She hit the game-winner against UConn in overtime and the following night she hit the game-winning three-pointer against Mississippi State to propel Notre Dame to the National Title.
