The WSN15 series will celebrate the 15th Anniversary of WisSports.net by looking back at the top players, teams, and moments of the past 15 years (2003-2017).

The WSN15 boys' basketball series continues with the Top 15 Players of the WSN Era.

The silky smooth jump shot Sam Hauser displayed the first time he stepped onto a court to play high school basketball later earned him the nickname, "Big Smooth."

The shot -- along with his stellar all-around feel for the game -- never left Hauser, who helped Stevens Point Area Senior High (SPASH) to a 100-6 record and two WIAA Division 1 state championships during his remarkable four-year prep career.

The 6-foot-8 Hauser averaged 18.2 points, 9.1 rebounds, 4.0 assists and 3.1 blocked shots as a senior in 2015-16 while helping SPASH to a 28-0 record.

Playing alongside ultra-talented younger brother, Joey, and super-competitive and productive classmate, Trev Anderson, Sam Hauser scored 23 points and snared eight rebounds while also sinking a three-point shot in his final prep game, a resounding 89-64 victory over Muskego in the Division 1 title game.

Hauser battled injuries a bit during his senior season and still managed to shoot 41 percent from three-point range, making 52 of 126 attempts from outside the arc.

A year earlier and completely healthy, Hauser made 52 percent of his triple attempts, sinking an incredible 74 of 142 tries.

All fans of state high school basketball vividly recall Hauser's breakout moment -- when he scored the first 16 points of the game for his team in the Panthers' 2015 Division 1 title-game victory over Germantown. Hauser finished that contest with 25 points, 10 rebounds and five blocked shots.

Hauser completed his prep career with 1,633 points and shared the Mr. Basketball award with Anderson in 2016.

Hauser now is playing at Marquette University and continues to flash his deft shooting touch as he made 95 of 195 three-point shots in 2017-18 for 49 percent to rank third among all NCAA Division I players.
